Who it's for
Homeowners and renters across Montgomery, Macoupin, Christian, and Sangamon Counties, including rural properties with wells, septic systems, acreage, or outbuildings that many standard policies don't account for.
Two risks we see often here that standard policies leave out entirely: mine subsidence and flooding. Both are available as add-on coverage, worth asking about even if you're not sure your property is affected. Read more in our guide to mine subsidence and flooding coverage gaps.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does homeowners insurance cover wells and septic systems?
Many standard policies don't account for them by default, which is a problem for a lot of the rural properties we see. We can make sure your policy actually covers your well and septic system, not just the house itself.
What if I have a detached garage, barn, or shop?
Detached structures are usually covered under a separate part of your policy, with its own limit. If you've added a shop or outbuilding since you bought your policy, it's worth checking that the coverage amount still matches what it would cost to rebuild.
Does homeowners insurance cover flooding or mine subsidence?
No, standard homeowners policies exclude both. Illinois requires insurers to offer mine subsidence coverage as an optional add-on, and flood insurance is its own separate policy. Both are relevant across our service area, and neither gets added unless you ask for it.
How much dwelling coverage do I need?
Enough to rebuild your home at today's construction costs, not what you paid for it or what it would sell for. If you've renovated, finished a basement, or added a garage, that number is worth revisiting.
Can I get renters insurance too?
Yes, we write renters insurance as well. It covers your personal belongings and liability even though you don't own the structure, and it's typically inexpensive.
